Foot Problems Caused By Toe Sandals

The use of toe sandals has disadvantages: they do not soften the shock produced by walking, which leads to leg pain. Your feet are also prone to injuries and bites.
Foot problems caused by toe sandals

Toe sandals have been in use since ancient times for their comfort, softness and breathability. Such shoes were used in both Eastern and Western cultures, Japan, Egypt, Greece, and Rome.

Currently,  one of the most famous shoes in the world is the Brazilian  Havaianas fluffy,  sturdy and lightweight, rubber toe tops that became an international success due to their versatile designs and colors.

Regardless of where they come from or who wears them, toe sandals are not good footwear for foot health.

Problems with excessive use of toe sandals

1. Lack of soft shock absorption

When you take a step, power is created. That is basic physics.

What does physics have to do with beach sandals?

When you walk, it produces a shock. This blow will not only affect your feet, but your entire body.

However, toe sandals are not able to soften that stroke caused by walking, especially when stepping on harder surfaces such as asphalt. The rubber sole is not enough to protect your feet and support your body weight.

In addition,  toe sandals have a perfectly flat sole,  which can lead to poor walking habits. It is common to see people dragging when they walk with toe sandals. All in all,  these shoes do not stay on the feet and do not give the foot stability.

The end result can be progressive pain in the leg muscles,  back and hips.

2. Lack of protection for your feet

Another problem with toe sandals is barefoot exposure. The structure of these shoes is simple and light, and  they offer little or no protection.

That’s why  your feet are prone to injuries, burns, bites , and many natural factors. This is particularly relevant given that they are usually used during the summer.

Beaches, swimming pools and nightclubs are also public. This means that the  risk of contact with micro-organisms is considerable. Toe sandals don’t cover your feet, but leave them completely exposed to all sorts of infections.

In extreme cases,  shocks and excessive exposure can affect the nerve endings in your legs. It can cause problems with the nervous system, body temperature regulation, and general well-being.

3. Skin diseases and leg fungi

Some diseases are more typical during the summer. The hottest era of the year creates some risks, such as sun exposure, moisture, and the local microorganism in some summer destinations.

Another classic summer problem is the  development of fungus due to heat and moisture. These cases multiply on hot days.

However, experts do not always agree on the role of toe sandals in the development of the foot fungus.

Some experts tend to  use toe sandals in the summer as they provide breathable and fresh air to the feet. According to them, the use of toe sandals is recommended as they help to dry the feet and prevent direct contact with microorganisms in the sand.

Other researchers are reluctant to recommend the use of toe sandals because the  foot is bare and exposed to several microorganisms present in water and sand. They also increase the risk of skin cancer due to excessive exposure to sunlight.

Given that the main function of shoes is to provide support and protection to the feet, toe sandals fail greatly.

But with  good hygiene and a proper sun protection factor, it is possible to enjoy summer without causing too much danger to your feet.
