Four exercises for eye health

Do you do daily eye exercises? Do your eyes flush often? Do they ever hurt? Do your eyes feel strained? People working on a computer are most likely to suffer from such problems.

If you don’t want to cause damage to your eyes and want them to stay healthy, you should do eye exercises. They are very simple and useful and easy to do anywhere.

Exercises for the eyes

Today we show four eye exercises. Although there are only four exercises, there are several variations in each, so the eye workout is thus more holistic.

1. Flicker!

you should do eye exercises when your eyesight is strained

If you work on a computer, one very important exercise for eye health is blinking. You may already think you’re blinking, and it is, but you certainly don’t do it often enough.

Working in front of a computer requires a lot of concentration with the eyes. This causes flicker to decrease, which would not happen under other conditions. What can be done about it?

  • Blink fast: Blink very quickly, for example during breaks. This moisturizes the eyes naturally and you don’t need eye drops.
  • Blink slowly: This exercise will help reduce eye strain. Close your eyes and keep them closed for a few seconds. Open them and play.

2. Eye pressure

Do you remember when you were little you pressed your eyes and saw the stars? The slight pressure of the eyes can be very good. It helps reduce their strain and relaxes vision after a day of labor that requires a lot of eye work.

How are these exercises done? Here are two ways to relieve eye strain considerably:

  • Pressing with the palms: Press the palms lightly over the eyes. It is recommended to warm your hands first by rubbing them together and then keep them on your eyes for up to 2 minutes.
  • Pressing with your fingers: Do as a child, that is, place your fingers on your eyes and press lightly for a few seconds. After that, take a break and repeat.

3. Move your eyes

eye exercises

Eye movement is one very effective exercise for eye health. Although the eyes are constantly moving, it should be done in a very special way when you want to relax them.

  • Look up and down: This is the first move. It looks first up and then down. It may seem a little difficult, so do the exercise slowly.
  • Look from side to side: The second exercise is similar, but it looks first to the right and then to the left.

You will probably feel some pressure in your eyes as you do these exercises, just as if you are forcing your eyes to move by force. It’s a good thing. It releases tension in them, and at the end of the workout you will feel your eyes relaxed considerably.

4. Focus your gaze near and then far away

In the last exercise, the gaze is focused on different distances. Exercise can be of great help to people with poor nearsightedness or farsightedness, so such people should do this movement, even if their eyes are not actually strained at work.

  • Focus your gaze far: First look at a distant object, person, etc., and then move your gaze back to the starting point.
  • Focus your gaze close: Start by looking around without focusing your gaze on anything in particular, and then look at something nearby, such as a dust particle, a small ant, and so on.

All of these exercises help reduce eye strain, strengthen vision, and relax the eyes. The eyes need relaxation every now and then. These eye exercises can be done from time to time, or you can plan an eye workout and do it every break at work. Your vision will thank you.
