What’s On The Beach? Don’t Forget These Things!

As your beach vacation approaches, certain factors such as the sun or salty seawater make the following products very important to remember, especially if you are a child, elderly or sensitive person.
What about the beach? Don't forget these things!

Sometimes a rush or some other reason leads to the fact that things that are important for a successful and fun holiday may be forgotten to bring to the beach. For example, sunburn or dehydration can, in the worst case, have a negative effect on health if they are not remembered to protect themselves properly.

Many forget something as important as sunscreen when they go to the beach

Here are some more simple yet helpful tips to help you make the most of your beach vacation!

What about the beach?

1. Dry change clothes

Especially after a hot day, it often happens that during a full day at sea swimming at sunset, the bikini or swimsuit no longer has time to dry and you have to return home or to the hotel in wet clothes.

Surprisingly, wet clothes can cause runny nose or even, in the worst case, a cold, especially at sunset, when the air is slowly starting to cool. So do not spend too long time in wet clothes after swimming.

Changing to dry clothes instead of a cool and damp swimsuit also feels more comfortable. So pack at least dry underwear for the beach , which is easy to change on after swimming.

2. Sun protection: sunglasses and sunscreen

When making a list of what to bring to the beach, at least don’t forget sunscreen, sunglasses, a towel and, if necessary, a parasol. The above are both an integral part of a successful beach day and a very important tool for protection from the sun – especially sunscreen, as sunlight can seriously damage and burn the skin. In the worst case, burnt skin can later lead to dangerous skin diseases.

Also, don’t forget sunglasses from your beach bag, as sunglasses are the only way to protect your eyes from the sun’s strong radiation. Ultraviolet radiation from the sun can, among other things, damage the cornea and retina of the eyes. Staying in the sun without sunglasses also increases the risk of cataracts.

For the reasons mentioned above, sunscreen and sunglasses are the most important elements of both a successful and safe beach day.

3. Jacket

The weather can often be very unpredictable at times. Where in the morning when you leave home the sun burns at its hottest, in the evening after sunset the air may be very cool. The easiest and fastest way to catch a cold is to let your body cool, and the flu is certainly not part of anyone’s plans, especially on vacation.

To avoid this uncomfortable situation, it is also advisable to pack warm clothes in a beach bag, for example a light jacket is an excellent option, especially for children, the elderly and those who know that they get cold easily.

As the evening cools down, a light jacket can be a good idea even on a beach holiday

4. Water

The next necessary thing is water. Even if there is a water refill or restaurant nearby where you can buy a drink, prices are usually high and in some cases you will also have to leave the beach to buy a bottle of water.

To save time and money, it would be most ideal to bring even a small portable cooler bag to the beach, where the water stays cold and fresh throughout the beach day. On top of all that, you can also store a snack, such as fresh fruit, in a cooler bag.

Exposure to the sun and salty seawater usually results in us feeling more thirsty than normal and poor hydration can, at worst, lead to dehydration and sunburn. In addition to drinking water for yourself and your children, special attention should be paid to pets when hairy family members are brought to the beach.

5. Sunscreen

As we mentioned earlier, sunscreen is an essential part of protecting your skin from the sun. The product should be carefully applied to both the face and the whole body. In addition, sunscreen should be remembered to add throughout the day; especially when spending the whole day on the beach.

Dermatologists recommend adding sunscreen at least every two hours. In practice, this means that even if you had applied sunscreen to your skin before going to the beach, you will very likely need to add it again later.

You should also remember to add sunscreen on the beach every two hours

Also, be sure to choose the most suitable sunscreen for your own skin and allow the sunscreen time to soak into the skin properly. Therefore, avoid swimming in the ocean or pool immediately after applying sunscreen, as the effectiveness of poorly absorbed sunscreen can be greatly reduced.
